Zoe Ball returns to radio for first time in 10 years with Radio 2 breakfast show

By Daily Mail Reporter

Former BBC Radio 1 breakfast host Zoe Ball is to present a Saturday morning show on Radio 2, it was announced today.

Ball, who was the first female DJ to present the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show in 1998, will front her new show from June 6 between 6am and 8am.

She joked: 'It's funny to be back on the early shift after almost 10 years since Radio 1 but, after becoming a mum, I'm much more of a morning person these days! I promise!'

Meanwhile, Emma Forbes will launch a Sunday morning early breakfast show on June 7 between 5am and 7am on Radio 2.

Richard Allinson will present a new overnight show on the station at weekends, from June 6.

Bob Shennan, controller, Radio 2, said: "Zoe, Richard and Emma are fantastic additions to the Radio 2 weekend schedule.

'They are warm, entertaining presenters who have many years of broadcasting experience between them, and I look forward to their shows becoming essential listening for all early risers.'
